Some of my readers and fans know this fact that I am about to make public for the first time: I sleep with my teddy bear.

Yes ladies and gentlemen I’ve been doing that for probably 20 years now. It is the Gerber TLC Bear and I got it a when I was a kid. There are two of them on EBay right now selling for $1.30 to $5!! So little, and they are vintage. Well, he has been with me all over the world and I just cannot sleep without him, I’m just used to using him as a pillow, I would never auction it off on EBay or anywhere else, even if it was for $300 or something (my mom wants me to just throw it out, but I just can’t).

So on Monday I took a look at my teddy bear and decided that he was too dirty, time for a splash in the washer and a twirl in the dryer. BUT… as I took a closer look I saw that his seems were all ripped and he would not survive the washer and dryer experience. All his filling would come out. So i took him to the dry cleaners downstairs, where they also do some sewing, reparations and alterations. For the last two nights I have been missing him by my side at night.

I went to visit him this morning, he is ready but I couldn’t take him with me because, as usual, I was running short of time and had to get to work like in 6 minutes. So I just saw that he was doing all right and I’ll pick him up tonight, after I come back from the hairdresser appointment that I have.

So just a quick note to make it clear. If someone calls you, and asks you for dinner, you didn’t suggest it, they asked you out on a date for dinner, wouldn’t you expect they take care of the bill when it arrives? Especially if they drank 3 tequilas, 2 margaritas and ate an appetizer plus main course?? OK, just asking.

I finished filing my tax return. Apparently I am getting a good enough refund. It is just because I had that periodontal surgery last year and it was so expensive. I think that is the only reason I’m getting a refund. I am seriously considering having a child or something, that’s the way to get a larger refund. They didn’t even give me a refund for the more than 10 thousand dollars I paid in rent. Good thing I have my own place now. I will not be paying to anyone, just towards my mortgage. I am so glad about it. Taxes are really high in Canada, and it is expensive to live in Ontario, and also in Toronto (everything is financed by property tax, so it just keeps getting higher and higher). They even have the cheek to ask you if you want to donate your tax refund towards Ontario’s debt! Can you believe it? I pay enough, plus that debt was acquired before I even lived here. Anyway, I said no.

The Arctic Winter Games are over. I did not get a chance to watch the coverage since I was so busy last week working late (I came back home on Thursday at 11:00 PM!). I watched the competitions before and my favourite is the igloo-making contest. Last time I watched it it was a lot of fun. The returning champion had a problem and his igloo collapsed mid-competition. Really exciting!

I just came back from Bistro 990 for lunch. It was just delicious. We had a nice business lunch with some suppliers so this time we didn’t have to pay. I had onion soup and risotto. We didn’t see any celebrities, though. Apparently you have to go for dinner to catch them.

Tonight I’m going to the Jersey Giant for drinks and maybe dinner. I am not that hungry, though. It is close to where I live so if I don’t have a good time I can just go home.

So I took a personality test and I turned out to be a “Guardian”. Here is what came out:

Guardians, are the cornerstone of society, for they are the temperament given to serving and preserving our most important social institutions. Guardians have natural talent in managing goods and services–from supervision to maintenance and supply–and they use all their skills to keep things running smoothly in their families, communities, schools, churches, hospitals, and businesses.

Guardians can have a lot of fun with their friends, but they are quite serious about their duties and responsibilities. Guardians take pride in being dependable and trustworthy; if there’s a job to be done, they can be counted on to put their shoulder to the wheel. Guardians also believe in law and order, and sometimes worry that respect for authority, even a fundamental sense of right and wrong, is being lost. Perhaps this is why Guardians honor customs and traditions so strongly–they are familiar patterns that help bring stability to our modern, fast-paced world.

Practical and down-to-earth, Guardians believe in following the rules and cooperating with others. They are not very comfortable winging it or blazing new trails; working steadily within the system is the Guardian way, for in the long run loyalty, discipline, and teamwork get the job done right. Guardians are meticulous about schedules and have a sharp eye for proper procedures. They are cautious about change, even though they know that change can be healthy for an institution. Better to go slowly, they say, and look before you leap.

Guardians make up as much as 40 to 45 percent of the population.

I surely can have a lot of fun with my friends and I am serious about my duties and responsibilities. And yes, I am dependable and trustworthy. But customs and traditions… I don’t know. I do respect customs but it depends what kind of traditions. I do believe in following the rules. Anyway, yeah, I think I am a guardian, they got it right.

Clarissa and Greg and Daphne went to Montreal for the weekend and they invited me but I couldn’t go because it was my first day at the hospital on Saturday. It went great, I really had a good time and got off at 4:00 and went shopping for some stuff that I need for my new condo. I didn’t get anything but it was such a nice day that I enjoyed my time out.

On Sunday I met this new girl that just arrived to Toronto and is a freind of Fede’s. We went for brunch at Fran’s, a really nice place for breakfast and an institution in Toronto.

This week I am going to be very busy at work and will probably have to work late at least 2 or 3 days.

The weather is great! Itis like spring, but they are saying in the radio not to get excited about it, spring doesn’t come until March 20 and spring-like weather doesn’t arrive until about April 18. Too bad.
